I am a Spa Girl at heart with a passion for great skin care! Here’s a little blurb about how I got started in the soapmaking business!
I received my Cosmetology license in 1982 and have practiced off and on since. In 2003 I was working in a Day Spa as an Esthetician and I was lucky to be mentored by a friend who is a seasoned Esthetician/Aromatherapist and loves creating her own essential oil potions. My clients were interested in all natural skin care products, so I started creating my soap and natural body care products with some of my mentor’s potions and they were such a big hit I started sharing with friends and family.
Then my soap adventure began. I bought every soapmaking book I could get my hands on and practiced my skills for a couple years, my love of baking helped! I took some soapmaking classes, scoured You Tube for every expert soapmaker I could find, then I found Etsy! I started selling my creations online and at craft fairs and farmer’s markets, developed my consignment and wholesale accounts, continue to educate myself by attending workshops and the Handmade Soap & Cosmetics Guild annual conference and became a Certified Soapmaker.

I have a small studio at my home where I make all products in hand-blended batches. Each order is filled, capped, labeled, packed and shipped by myself my husband, daughter and sister. When I'm not making, I spend my time writing, designing, marketing, answering emails, teaching soapmaking classes and running my retail shop as well as craft fairs, street fairs, holiday markets and bazaars. When I have the chance, I love to create new products!
